Velayudham is vijay's first ever high budget....!

Vijay, Hansika, Genelia starrer Velayudham is busy wrapping final part of shoot in Srinagar. According to the schedule the team will be completing the final song shoot by today evening. Meanwhile the talkie portion of the film has completed its editing and the song which is getting canned has to be included and the first copy will mostly get ready by the month end.
Buzz is that the film is made with a whopping budget of Rs 48 crore, and this has set a record in Vijay’s career by being the costliest film in his career till date. Especially the introduction song of Vijay is shot with a huge amount of Rs 2 crore. Vijay plays the role of a milkman while Hansika and Genelia will star as his love interests in the film. There is going to be a lot of sister sentiment and Saranya Mohan played the role of Vijay’s sister in the film.
Velayudham is sure to be a block buster hit as it has all right ingredients in right ratio.
Velayudham is scheduled for its release on October 26th, 2011.

'Nanban' for Pongal 2012

Finally the release date of 'Nanban' is out! This multi-starrer will see a Pongal 2012 release! Although the movie was initially slated for a Diwali release, reliable sources in the trade now reveal that the film will be a Pongal treat for the Ilayathalapathy fans.
This film that is the official remake of '3 Idiots', a Bollywood super hit, features Vijay, Jiiva, Srikanth, Sathyaraj and Ileana in the lead roles. The movie is inspired by Chetan Bhagat's novel, and showcases ones perspective towards career, pressure from college authorities and family members and a lot more. It's more like a laugh riot with a serious social message.
The film also has SJ Surya in a cameo appearance and it is his character that brings about an interesting twist to the story.
'Nanban' will also be dubbed and see a Telugu release simultaneously and to create a favorable market for the Ilayathalapathy in Andhra Pradesh, it is said that a number of Vijay's films might see a dubbed release in Telugu before Pongal! However, Ileana has a good fan following in there which might be a plus for the makers. A good marketing strategy indeed team 'Nanban'!

There's good news for all fans of Ilayathalapathy!
Vijay's upcoming film with director M Raja is in top gear and nearing completion. Sources close to the film's team have revealed that the team, all inclusive of its lead stars along with their captain, have left for Kashmir where a song will be shot in the picturesque landscape of the Dal Lake, Srinagar. This is the only song that needs to be completed, and once it is done, the entire film's shooting will be wrapped up.
The song will be filmed with the lead ladies in the film Genelia and Hansika vying with each other trying to flirt with their sweetheart, in this case Vijay, according to reports. This film which sees Vijay as a superhero has created a lot of flutter amidst his fans, who have never seen their icon in such an avatar, who are eagerly waiting for the film to release.
Sources also indicate that the shooting of this song, which was originally planned to be shot overseas, will be wrapped up in a couple of days after which the director will give all his attention to completing the post-production work and readying the film for a Diwali release!

Vijay to shoot in Srinagar

Ilayathalapathy Vijay will shake his legs in the backdrop of picturesque locales of Srinagar for 'Velayudham', as the only one song which is left to be shot will be canned in the capital city of Jammu and Kashmir.
Select members of the cast and crew of 'Velayudham' will leave for Srinagar on September 17 to shoot the number 'Molachu moonu ilai vidala...' They will be back within a week, sources in the know tell us.
What is more interesting about this particular song is that it would have both the heroines of the film - Genelia D'Souza and Hansika Motwani - sharing screen space with Vijay. It will be choreographed by a popular dance master.
Meanwhile, director 'Jayam' Raja is upbeat about the movie's prospects in the box-office. "Velayudham will be tailor-made for the fans of Vijay. How an ordinary man becomes a super hero is the one-line that can best describe the story," he says.
